StratOS 0.2 Docs - Server - Tutorial - VTCs
From StratOS
Grouping thin clients is one of they key concepts in the framework. Managing a fleet of thin clients with different configurations can be demanding, and inheritance can be of great help to the administrator.
Add a VTC
By default all the newly registered devices will belong to the appropriately called Default VTC. Soon you will want to have different configuration for different devices. And you will have to create descendants of the Default VTC.
To add a VTC, click on the add VTC button under the VTCs item on the action Panel.
A window will pop up, with a pre-selected Default VTC as the parent of the new VTC, and a text field will accept new name.
Following the same process you may create a whole tree of virtual thin clients:Depending on your needs you may group them by location, activities, hardware, or whatever your might think of. Inheritance of modules should guide your choice, and the next StratOS 0.2 Docs - Server - Tutorial - Modules tutorial will show you just how.
